Laura Miles

Laura Miles is a former lecturer and trade union activist in the British higher education workers’ union UCU, and a long-standing member of the Socialist Workers’ Party (Britain). She is currently a national executive committee member of the UCU, and has served as the secretary of the UCU Left, a coalition of socialists and leftists inside the union. She is also the first Trans woman ever to have been elected to a national executive committee of a British trade union. She is co-author of Transgender Oppression and Liberation (Chaekgalpi).
